The online applications for NVS Class 9 admission 2026-27 started on July 30, 2025. The last date to

 submit the JNVST Class 9 application has been extended to October 7, 2025. Earlier, the NVS application

 submission last date was till September 23, 2025. The Samiti provides lateral entry admission for Class 9

 vacant seats through the JNVST exam. The JNVST Class 9 exam 2026 will be held on February 7, 2026,

 and the JNVST 9th results will be announced in March 2026. Successful candidates will secure NVS

 admission in Class 9 for the academic year 2025-26.




The Navodaya Vidyalaya admission test for Class 9 aims to fill seats in 650 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas

 across 27 states and 8 Union Territories. The Navodaya Vidyalaya class 9 admission exam evaluates

The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti 

invited the online application to provide 

admission in Class 6th for academic year 

2025-26 in various Jawahar Navodaya 

Vidyalayas (JNVs) located all over India. The 

NVS conduct the enterance examination for 

it. The entrance exam is named as Jawahar 

Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST–

2025). The Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 6 

Admission Form 2025-26 can be submitted 

online before the October 07, 2024 (Extended Again).


JNVST Class 6 Admission 2025-26 Overview

 The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has 

released the complete schedule of JNVST 

2025 admission form on 16 July 2024. The 

NVS Class 6 admission online application 

form from 16 July to 07 October 2024. The 

JNVST 2025 Exam Date is 18 January 2025. 

The JNVST 2025 admission test for the hilly 

areas is scheduled to conduct on 12 April

 Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission 2025-26 Eligibility Criteria


Students who are interested to apply for Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 6 Admission 2025-26 must have to satisfy the following

 eligibility terms and conditions:

Navodaya JNVST Class 6 Admission 2025 Age Limit

Student must have been not born before 01 May 2013 and after 31 July 2015 (Both Dates are inclusive). This age limit is applicable to all category candidates including OBC, SC, ST and others. Student needs to provide the birth certificate copy issued by the Government Body at the time of admission.

In case of doubtful cases of overage in comparison to the age recorded in the certificate, the candidate may be referred to the Medical Board for confirmation of the age. The decision of the medical board will be treated as binding & final.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 6 Educational Qualification


Admission of candidate to class VI in a JNV is district specific. A candidate who is studying class V in a district is allowed to apply for admission to JNV in the same district only. Only the bonafide resident candidates from the district concerned where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has been located and studying class V in the same district are eligible to apply for admission to JNVs through JNVST.


The valid residential proof as notified by Govt. of India of the parent of the same district where the candidate has studied class V and appeared for the JNVST is to be submitted by the provisionally selected candidate at the time of admission
Candidate has to reside in the district where he/she is seeking admission in the JNV located in the same District. Bonafide residence certificate of the parent is to be submitted at the time of verification of documents after the provisional selection.
Candidate has to study class V in any of the Govt. or Govt. recognized schools located in the same District during 2024-25.
Candidates who have passed class V before the session 2024-25 or repeater candidates are not eligible to apply. NVS has the right to compare the application data of previous year(s) to identify the repeater candidates. If noticed, admission of such candidates will not be allowed to JNVs through JNVST 2025



Navodaya JNVST Class 6 Admission 2025-26 Required Documents

 Candidate needs to provide the following documents after clearing the JNVST Entrance Test 2025:

Date of Birth Certificate -The copy of Birth Certificate issued by competent Government Authority concerned.
Proofs for eligibility as per the conditions of NVS.
For candidates seeking admission under rural quota, the parents will also have to submit a certificate from the competent authority to the effect that the child had studied class III, IV and V in an Institution/ School located in a rural area.
Residence Certificate: The valid residential proof (as notified Govt. of India) of the parent of the same District where the JNV is located & candidate has studied class V shall be furnished.
Copy of Aadhaar Card of the candidate: As per section 7 of Aadhaar act, 2016, the provisionally selected candidate has to submit the copy of Aadhaar Card to get admission under the Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme.
Certificate by the Head Master of the school regarding study details of class III, IV & V.
Medical fitness certificate.
Undertaking for Migration.
Disability certificate (if applicable)
Category/community certificate (SC/ST) if applicable.
Category/community certificate OBC, as per central list if applicable. (Format Attached)


How to Apply for JNVST 2025 Application Form?










The online application form for JNVST Admission 2025-26 Class VI is self-explanatory. However, following guidelines may be specifically kept in view by the students and their parents before to applying:

4. The following documents in soft form (JPG format of size between 10 to 100 kb) may be kept ready at the time of online registration:

Certificate verified by the Head Master mentioning the details of candidate in the prescribed format
Photograph
Signature of parent
Signature of candidate
Aadhaar details/ Residence certificate issued by competent Government authority.
5. Candidate need to provide the basic details of candidate like State, District, Block, Aadhaar number, PEN number etc. are to be filled in the application portal.

6. The eligible candidates have to fill up the online form and upload the verified certificate with the photograph along with signatures of both candidate and his/her parent. The verification of the information provided by the parent in the certificate will be done by the Head Master of the School where the candidate is studying in class V. The certificate should be uploaded in jpg format of the size between10-100 kb only.

7. In case of candidates from NIOS, candidates should obtain `B’ certificate and he/she should be a bonafide resident of the same district where he/she is seeking admission.

8. Online platform is in open source and free of cost. Application may be submitted from any source like desktop, laptop, mobile, tablet etc.

9. In all JNVs, a help desk will be available to assist the candidates/parents to upload application free of cost. Parents may also approach the help desk in JNV along with candidate and required documents such as verified certificate with photograph along with signature of both candidate and his/her parent and a mobile phone with valid active mobile number for receiving the OTP, registration number and password through SMS for registration process.

10. Signature of both, the candidate and the parent / guardian should be uploaded while applying for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test.
